At the same time, it creates instability of the glenohumeral articulation. In the supine position, gravitational force on all these joints is markedly different. The physician must be aware of the action of gravity when using exercise treatment. Bending the head forward in the upright position does not exercise the cervical flexor muscles. Gravity is the primary force involved.
